SURPRISE SURPRISE ♥ HOW COOL IS THIS?

I woke up yesterday to find a really cool, sweet message in my inbox from Sergio Zambon regarding my recent post on his latest collection/show...a comment on the post itself reads:

Dear Mandana
grazie 1000
I love your comments of course!
come to my next show or let's meet when I am in NYC next (I was there for fashion week)
thank you
Sergio

How cool is that? Thank you, Mr. Zambon! I look forward to it. xmt

how cute is this dress? thx to elle.com for posting it. i hate when shows get edited.
like when an amazing piece like this gets edited out of the online line-up. and it's one of the best pieces! i don't even think style.com had this line on their site when i found it on italian vogue's site. shame shame, US vogue.
fantastic designer Sergio Zambon...remember that name.
(stay tuned as the saturday post will be up in a few minutes...xx)

MAKEUP MON ♥ BACKSTAGE MAKEUP AT SERGIO ZAMBON FALL WINTER 2012/2013

I meant to post these images from backstage at Sergio Zambon's Fall Winter 2012/2013 fashion show a while ago, but I kept forgetting where they were (the images). I really loved this show. And if you read this blog then you know I'm a fan of the designer, too. If he gets time and feels like it, maybe I'll get an interview with him on here. He seems very busy in a good way these days.

I think these images of the makeup are awesome because they are wearable. I love the models and I like this backstage-in-Milan thing. I'll find out who the makeup artist in charge of the look was. If you want to see the show, you can go here. I can't wait to see what the next show will be like! (Even more, I can't wait to be able to put in some personal orders for myself!)♡

THURS SHOW ♥ SERGIO ZAMBON FALL 2012

I was personally invited by the designer to attend this show...and I wish I could have gone. If you have been reading this blog for a while, then you know I love the stuff Sergio Zambon creates. This show was pretty awesome...you could easily see this girl at a big art opening in Berlin or even New York or LA. Or she's a big time fashion girl who works the shows in London or Milan. I think this was better than Mulberry or some of the other brands that receive too much attention. Check it out. When there are individual pics, I'll check them out and I'll ask Sergio what the one white-tipped shoe was all about. :)♡

i've been personally invited to a lot of things in my life for fashion week...but mostly from designers i know. but sometimes a designer, like sergio zambon or the girls behind ivana helsinki, are so nice they invite you themselves because they appreciate your support and how you appreciate their vision. very sweet.

WEDNESDAY WONDER ♥ SERGIO ZAMBON

Wow...take a look at this lovely little collection I discovered from some Italian genius named Sergio Zambon ! Here's the deal (if you're not in Europe...especially if you are in the States)...these shows never make it to the style.coms or the US Vogues. NEVER. Due to appeasing advertising, etc. Dunno why. Thank goodness for the Internet (in this respect) because I can now cruise all the other Vogues around the world and see these lovely lovely creations. These 60s (so done right) looks are the very same looks I endlessly look for in every thrift (charity) shop, in every good vintage boutique, at so so many estate sales. These are the goooods. And then I have to mention the so so good styling. So on point. So Italian. Old school Italian. And I rather like seeing faces I don't recognize. I'd take all of the pieces in this post in a heartbeat. And I hope to do so one day soon. (And then look at the banana heel he designed on the bottom for a previous collection! Fun!)♡

OMG. Are you kidding me? I would kill to have this dress!
Chic! Chic! Chic!
This is so totally ridiculously hot...I think you need to learn Italian just to wear it.
Love it. Will work on copying it for next summer. This is a good length to shorten loose vintage dresses to.
love it.
So so loving the chicness.
Such a pretty pretty dress. So flattering and timeless.
A perfect coat for all your pieces above.

♥ GALITZINE FALL 2013/14 DESIGNED BY SERGIO ZAMBON ♥

I was looking forward to seeing the new Sergio Zambon collection, because if you read this blog or have been following this blog, then you know I love this designer's vision. You can see some of the older posts on him here. But Paris Fashion Week is upon us (YEA!), and I haven't seen the collection. So I ended up doing some research and found out his debut with the house of Galitzine was this season. What I read is that they're known for their "pajama palazzo" concept...I don't know a thing about the house or anything about pajama palazzo (which I guess means they're known for their palazzo pants?), but I do love the very very (always) 1960's vibe that Sergio instills into everything he does (for women). Here are a few bits I could find about the debut capsule collection online. (And the Makeup Monday post will go up a bit later today...it's a good and long one...or two.)

GIRL FRIDAY ♥ ROCHAS GIRLS

I think artistic director (weird title...shouldn't he be the Creative Director of the house?) for Rochas, Marco Zanini, has such clear vision for what he's doing. Season after season, he's been able to really continue telling the Rochas story...in his own way. And that's not easy to do (please see the Pucci collection...I am a HUGE MASSIVE Pucci fan...but I can't say I see Pucci when I look at the collections the past couple of years....as it looks more like a play on Cavalli than Pucci. Oh well...but I've made my point). It's still so chic. It's so fun. It's very Japanese almost. And the styling is amazing. For the Rochas Pre-Spring 2012 collection, they've styled the model (Julia Shvets) so so well. Actually, she is styled almost exactly the way a stylist I know does herself up. She even looks like her. I can't remember her name because it's been so long (but I will get the name as soon as I get my magazines out of storage), but she styled Yoko Ono for our shoot and my interview when I was with Oyster. She had the same braided wreath around her head and was very Greek goddess in her simplicity. And very chic. I'll find out. She was adorable. But back to Rochas. I can't get enough of Marco Zanini. I love the way he and also Sergio Zambon see young women and spring dresses. :) And I can't wait to have my next gig where I can where their clothes all the time!♡

love! though i'd wear heels with it. or little flats. but i like the look for editorial.
chic chic chic. would love to be wearing this entire look for work! including the hair!
love. i'm loving all black again so so much.
love!
separately i'm sure all of these are amazing. it's kind of funny for a look. but it makes for good editorial.

love his version of le smoking.
gorgeous print. very japanese looking. the look,  i mean.
gorgeous color!!

♥♥♥ MATERIAL GIRL COTTON CANDY GLITTER AUGUST 2012 SHOOT ♥♥♥

Oh how I want to be these girls in this magazine...to wake up every day and plop whatever prettiness is draped on the chair and look a little tired and disheveled and still put together. I think the reason why I love what Material Girl does is because it's accessible. It's not about uppity fashion or uppity makeup or overdoing it to look like someone else. It's about mismatched ends and split ends and a place where nothing matters but what you feel like doing and being. The below editorial is older, but I still love it nonetheless. I love the clothes and how they all look like bits and pieces you'd find at a thrift shop and the makeup looks like it's from last night. I like her puffy eyes and the way they have glittered it all up. Sigh. :) Happy Monday, all. xxx  (PS It was shot by Elliot & Erick Jimenez!)♥
